The Sweeten Creek Mental Health and Wellness Center at Mission Behavioral Health Hospital is a mental health treatment facility with both in-patient and outpatient services. This particular courtyard is for their 120 teenage patients who will go through treatment while staying at the center. This project was unique as we had to alter our installation method several times after concerns that they patients could find our installation materials (such as screws, stone, and the nailer boards) and harm themselves or others. Taking this in consideration, SYNLawn Carolina helped the developers and hospital staff come up with a solution. Concrete was poured in place of an aggregate base .5” below FFG, drains were added, and the artificial grass was glued directly to the concrete.
