The cylindrical, elongated green, yellow, brown, black or purple fruits ripen in autumn and contain flavourful, caviar like vesicles in shades of green, yellow or pink. Use fruit in sweet and savoury dishes, jams and jellies or as a garnish. Grow in a sunny to partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Sites should ideally be frost free. Protect from hot or
