This 2 meter long tetrapod was the North American equivalent of the European genus Metoposaurus. It used to be called Buettneria perfecta until very recently (2007) when somebody noticed that the genus name was preoccupied by a cricket. It took then the name of the oldest known generic synonym, Koskinonodon. Remains of his animal has been found in Texas,
