1863 PETER CARTWRIGHT. A Letter Purporting to be from the Devil. Before Screwtape Letters. Great Awakening Carefully Corrected and Revised byAn exceptionally rare imprint, self published, of Peter Cartwright's "Letter from the Devil." He had become engaged in a controversy with several Kentucky divines, who together wrote a congratulatory letter to him from the Devil, affirming that his camp meeting, Arminian, revivalist, experimental preaching was directly at the direction of the Devil to Cartwright.
